Right at Home Georgian Triangle is a proud supporter of the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH) who offers some of the finest health care in the Georgian Triangle. But did you know the provincial government covers only a portion of the necessary costs? The remaining money for improvements and regular expenses comes from therapeutic sources and the generosity of people like you.
The Collingwood G & M Hospital Foundation’s mission is to continue promoting the quality healthcare delivered by those dedicated professionals at CGMH. That means keeping up with the demands of the area, which consists of 60,000 permanent residents and 3.5 million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview, and the Blue Mountains.
As a longtime trusted partner of the hospital, the Foundation knows the importance of providing necessary repairs and upgrades to existing facilities while it awaits redevelopment. In addition to the general population, this area produces the greatest number of elite athletes per skiable acre, so CGMH’s Emergency and medical treatment facilities must be able to meet the demand.
To that end, the Foundation helps to stage fundraisers each year that will not only raise the required capital but also provide an enjoyable experience for all who participate.
The next event is just around the corner: the G & M Hospital Foundation’s 19th Annual Ski Day! With over 1.1 million skiers annually, the Collingwood Escarpment is the busiest ski area in Ontario. Whether you are a dedicated powderhead or someone who only takes to the slopes a few times each winter, this is a fun day for the whole family and another chance to invest in your local hospital.
Want to try something a little different this Valentine’s Day? 2018’s Ski Day falls on February 14th, so why not take your better half to the Osler Bluff Ski Club and support the Collingwood Hospital Foundation surgical campaign in the process?
Registration begins at 8:30 am, followed by a great breakfast courtesy of Tim Hortons. Enjoy yourself with one or more of the activities available, including the “Fun Race,” or try out a new pair of skis at the Squire John tent.
Lunch follows at 11:30 am, and this is a great opportunity to spend time with old friends or meet new ones. You can also place your bids in the silent auction. Activities resume at 1:00 pm.
Join everyone for après ski munchies, courtesy of Swiss Chalet, at 4:00 pm while you participate in the fun of the “feather” game, win a prize, and watch the award ceremony. The day finishes at 6:00 pm.
