Enriching Your Brain Power with Music Workshop

Music has the capacity to lift mood, and enhance cognitive ability.  The effect of learning music on our brains to enhance our memories and processing capabilities has been widely studied.  National Geographic explores the improvements in your brain's ability to perform along with learning an instrument.  They noted: "...musical training can have a "profound" and lasting impact on the brain, creating additional neural connections." As we age we want to stay sharp and focused. What does learning music have to offer us?  What are the benefits?

Watch this educational video to see - How playing an Instrument Benefits Your Brain.

Learning a new instrument can be beneficial for any age, especially adults. The Music Teachers Helper notes how taking music lessons can:

  • Lower Stress and make you smarter.
  • Helps you be part of a built-in community.
  • Help to stave off hearing loss.

Viewing what learning an instrument can actually do for your brain might convince you to pick up an instrument! Explore new ways to stay sharp and enhance your brain power by learning a new instrument.
