Brtki Veldetnsae, Care Planner / Foot Care Specialist
Brkti completed a nursing program in Calgary in 2010. In 2018 she received an advanced foot care certificate. Additionally, she worked in-hospital for six years as an acute post-surgical thoracic/pulmonary nurse and as a geriatric nurse for two years. More recently, she worked in eating disorders and medicine.
Brkti always dreamed of having her own business opportunity. While working in a transition unit she saw the struggle our senior citizens and their loved ones face when it comes to receiving home care services. She witnessed the need for Senior Care and the desire that most elders have to age in place. After doing some research about home care services, Brkti decided that opening an office with Right at Home was the best way to help older adults age at home and make the dream of staying home into reality.

The History of Right at Home
Right at Home was founded by Allen Hager in Omaha, Nebraska. For many years, Allen worked in health care as a hospital administrator. He watched patients – especially the aged– leave the facility and return home, but not necessarily return to health. Once home, many of these aged patients were unable to care for themselves.
Allen knew that with home care services, many of these people could lead healthy, happy lives in their own homes. But he also knew that there were very few companies that offered this kind of help.
Before Allen founded Right at Home, he talked to dozens of families to understand the different kinds of challenges they faced and the types of care that would improve their quality of life. In order to experience the needs of those who required professional assistance while living in their home, Allen became a certified nursing assistant.
In 1995, Allen started Right at Home. Five years later, he started branching into other regions of the the United States by carefully selecting franchisees who shared his passion for caring for those in their community. Right at Home now has more than 500 offices that serve thousands of clients across 9 countries. In 2012, Right at Home Canada was launched.
